Overview
Los Volcanes National Park protects three active volcanoes in central El Salvador—Cerro Verde, Izalco, and Volcán Santa Ana—making it the country's most accessible volcanic hiking destination. The park spans 4,500 hectares and serves as a critical “bridge area” for species migrating between El Salvador and neighboring countries, meaning hikers frequently spot wildlife like toucans and coatis.
