Cash is essential inside the park as card facilities are unavailable. Budget approximately 53,000 COP for park entrance plus food costs at refuge shops. Tours from Manizales cost around 120,000 COP.
Packing

Safety
Altitude sickness is a serious risk above 3,000 m. Spend 1-2 days acclimatizing before high altitude treks. Carry emergency supplies and inform someone of your route.
Transport
Manizales is the main access point. Tours, taxis (300,000 COP), or budget buses to the park intersection are options. No public transport within the park.
Weather
Cold year-round (0 to -10°C mornings). Wet season brings constant clouds; dry season has afternoon rain 10AM-3PM. Prepare for all conditions.
