Overview
Los Baños ("the baths" in Spanish) is a resort town built around therapeutic thermal hot springs at the foot of Mount Makiling, a dormant volcano. The town is also home to the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), established in 1909, creating a unique blend of academic community and resort amenities.

Los Baños is 63 km south of Manila, accessible by bus from Metro Manila terminals. The town is walkable around Crossing where major landmarks are located.
Weather
Hot season (March-May) can be intense. Wet season brings leeches on mountain trails. Weekends are crowded with Manila visitors.
