Overview
Longzhou is a small border town in southwestern Guangxi that punches above its weight in historical significance. During the late 1800s it hosted the first French Embassy in Guangxi Province, and in 1930 Deng Xiaoping launched his first communist rebellion from this river port.

China's yuan (CNY) is the local currency. ATMs may be limited; carry cash from larger cities or Nanning.
Transport
Three-wheeled taxis (sanlunche) cost ¥2-3 anywhere in town. High-speed trains to Nanning take 1.5 hours (4 daily). Buses to Nanning depart hourly, 2.5 hours.
