Activities
The skiable area includes 115 km of slopes with dedicated snowboarding areas and 32 ski lifts. Mountains full of ski slopes and hiking trails offer year-round outdoor activities.
Money
Livigno enjoys a special tax status as a duty-free area where Italian VAT is not paid. This makes alcohol, spirits, perfumes, cigarettes and many other goods notably cheaper. However, Swiss border control may require payment of tax when importing non-trivial amounts of goods.
Shopping
Livigno offers more than 250 shops creating a large outdoor shopping mall. The duty-free status makes it convenient to buy alcohol, perfumes, cigarettes, petrol and many other goods.
Transport
Free bus lines (blue, green, red, yellow, brown) operate every hour from 07:30 to 20:00, connecting major hotels with lifts and the city center. Extra connections available in high season.
Weather
Livigno is one of the coldest municipalities in Italy. Snow usually appears in November and persists until May. The locality is called the "Little Tibet" of Italy due to its high altitude and dry, rigorous climate.
