Overview
Little Fatra is a karst mountain range in the Western Carpathians offering dramatic scenery without the crowds of Slovakia's more famous ranges. The park features deep ravines, limestone peaks reaching over 1,600m, and well-marked trails connecting mountain shelters.

Before you go
Accommodation
Mountain shelters charge €10-18 per person. Camping Belá offers tent sites from €10. Reservations via email recommended, especially for arrivals after 18:00.
Safety
Bears, wolves, and lynx inhabit the area. Carry bear spray on remote trails and know proper encounter protocols.
Transport
Žilina bus station southeast of the train station is the main hub. Buses to Terchová run frequently from 05:23 to 20:25.
Weather
Mountain weather changes rapidly. Trails are clearest June-September; Vrátna valley offers skiing in winter.
