Overview
Lisburn is a compact market town 9 miles southwest of Belfast that makes a convenient base for exploring Northern Ireland. It's best known for its linen heritage - once called 'Linenopolis' during the Industrial Revolution - and for the former Maze prison (Long Kesh), site of the 1981 hunger strikes.
