Overview
Lillooet is a small historic town in British Columbia's Fraser Canyon that was briefly the largest town during the 1858-1860 Fraser River Gold Rush. Colonial Governor James Douglas called it "the prettiest spot for a town on the Fraser I have seen," and early travelers compared the dramatic cliff walls and towering mountains to the Himalayas.
