Overview
Lidingö is a suburban island with 50,000 inhabitants, known for Millesgården sculpture museum, the annual Lidingöloppet cross-country race (one of four legs of the Swedish Classic Circuit with 45,000 participants), and ferry connections to the Stockholm archipelago. The island has Iron Age and Viking Age archaeological sites including runestones, nature reserves, and separated cycling and hiking paths.
