Overview
Libreville is Gabon's largest city and capital, home to 703,904 residents (2013) — roughly one third of the country's population. As a port city on the Atlantic Ocean, it offers a relaxed seafront (bord de mer) where locals gather daily, towering Gabonese sculptures along the beach, and a multicultural atmosphere where people are welcoming and laid back.
