Rincon de la Vieja National Park (US$15) is the main attraction with volcanic trails and waterfalls. Adventure parks offer zip-lines, water slides, and mud baths.
Culture
Guanacaste province has a distinct cowboy (sabanero) culture. The Museo de Sabanero at Casa de la Cultura documents this heritage. The city celebrates July 25th anniversary of becoming Guanacaste's primary settlement.
Money
The local currency is Costa Rican colón (CRC). Prices in listings range from colón amounts (40,000-45,000 for mid-range hotels) to US dollar prices for tourist activities and some accommodations. Credit cards are accepted at hotels and larger restaurants.

Liberia is walkable downtown. Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport is 13 km west with shuttle bus service 06:00-18:00. The Pulmitan Bus Terminal serves routes to San Jose and regional destinations.
Weather
Hot climate year-round averaging 27°C with a dry season from December to April. Prepare for intense sun and heat, especially from February to April.
