Overview
Leeton is one of Walter Burley Griffin's three planned cities (alongside Canberra and Griffith), purpose-built in the 1910s as the administrative heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. The town offers a genuinely quiet, local Australian experience with wineries, wetlands for birdwatching, and secluded sand beaches along the Murrumbidgee River—all far from tourist crowds.
