Overview
Laukaa is a municipality of 19,000 people in Central Finland, best known for Saraakallio, the largest Stone Age rock painting site in Fennoscandia. The oldest paintings are about 6,600 years old, depicting deer, humans, and boats in red paint made from hematite-containing soil mixed with blood, urea, and eggs.
