Lake Bracciano is a volcanic lake in Lazio, 32 km northwest of Rome, offering Romans a popular weekend escape especially during summer. The lake is one of the cleanest in Italy because it serves as a drinking water reservoir for Rome and motorboats are forbidden.

Train from Rome's Ostiense station reaches Anguillara and Bracciano. COTRAL buses connect towns hourly to Rome. Summer tourist boats make triangular tours of the lake.
