Overview
Laax is a rural municipality of 1,900 residents in the Surselva valley of Graubünden, Switzerland. It is best known as a snowboarding mecca, hosting the world's largest half-pipe at Crap Sogn Gion.

Language
Laax is primarily Romansch and German speaking. English is increasingly heard as the resort attracts more foreign visitors, especially in tourist areas.
Money
Switzerland uses Swiss Francs (CHF). ATMs are available in town. Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and restaurants but carry higher fees abroad.
Transport
The free winter shuttle bus connects Falera to Fidaz, useful for accessing the Alpenarena ski area. Regular buses serve other routes within Laax and Flims districts.
Weather
Alpine climate with significant snow in winter (December-April) and mild summer temperatures. Glacial lakes remain cold even in summer due to glacier melt feeding them.
