Overview

La Mauricie National Park protects 536 km² of Laurentian wilderness in Quebec, with 150 lakes and countless ponds scattered through Canadian Shield forest. Unlike developed parks, this one offers a backcountry canoe camping circuit accessing 200 remote sites by boat—unique among Canadian national parks.

Fees

Daily park admission is $9 adults, $7.75 seniors, free for youth/children, $17.50 family. Seasonal passes available at better value.

Restrictions

Dogs are not permitted in La Mauricie National Park, unlike other Canadian national parks.

Transport

Park Bus runs from Montreal June-August departing 08:00 from Peel Street, returning 15:30. Adults $45, seniors/students $41, children $23.

Weather

Summer highs reach 25.5°C (July), ideal for paddling and hiking. Winter drops to -20°C. Best visited May-October.
