Overview
Kurjenrahka National Park offers a rare chance to explore pristine raised bogs, old-growth forests, and pristine lakes in Finland Proper. The park is centred around the raised bog Kurjenrahka ("Crane bog"), featuring the old-growth Pukkipalo forest and rich birdlife visible from bird watching towers.

Connectivity
Mobile coverage exists but check with your provider. No public WiFi in the park. Download offline maps before visiting.
Etiquette
Follow right to access code: leave no trace, use established campfire sites, stay on marked trails in restricted areas during breeding season.
Money
Finland uses EUR (€). No entrance fees for the park. The special hiking map costs €20. Rental huts from €41/night.
Packing
Bring all food and equipment. Sturdy waterproof boots essential. Mosquito repellent critical in summer. Map and compass or GPS recommended.
Safety
Area is generally safe. Mosquitoes are a major nuisance in summer evenings. Wolves and bears present but rarely encountered.
Transport
The park is 35 km north of Turku. Local buses run to the park entrance late spring to early autumn; otherwise to Tortinmäki (6 km away). Coaches serve Kuhankuono stop near the information hut.
Water
Water from lakes and Lakjärvi well is not potable. Bring your own water or use taps at Kurjenpesä and Rantapiha.
Weather
Snow typically December–March. Trails may flood during spring melt (March–April). Summer (May–September) is busiest; bring rain gear.
