Overview
Kula is a small inland town in Turkey's Central Aegean region, distinguished by its UNESCO Global Geopark volcanic landscapes and a well-preserved Ottoman historic quarter. The town offers a counterpoint to coastal tourist destinations: stark black lava fields, hoodoo rock formations, and traditional Ottoman architecture with 'kissing roofs' almost touching across narrow alleys.
