Emergency number is 112 throughout Finland. Kuhmoinen Health Center (Orivedentie 3) is open M–Th 08:00–15:00, F 08:00–14:00. Pharmacy (Toritie 42) open M–F 09:00–17:00, Sa 09:00–13:00.
Food
Two main eating options in town: Dirty Cock Cafe (pub, open Tu-Su) and Sahanranta (summer restaurant near marina, June-August). Both are on Toritie. S-Market for self-catering supplies.
Money
Finland uses the euro (€). Cash machines available at S-Market and K-Market. Most businesses accept cards. Keski-Suomen aluetaxi has minimum fares of €12 weekdays, €15 evenings and Sundays.
Transport
Public bus connections are infrequent. A taxi to nearby towns can cost €20-40. Renting a car is the most flexible option for exploring the region. Bikes and canoes rentable at Isojärvi National Park.
Weather
Summers are mild (15-25°C) with long daylight hours. Winters are cold (-5 to -15°C) with snow. July and August are best for outdoor activities. Always bring a light jacket even in summer.
