Overview
Kuala Selangor is a small town where the Selangor River meets the sea, historically the old royal capital of Selangor before moving to Klang and finally Kuala Lumpur. Conquered by the Dutch in 1784, it maintains its traditional kampung (village) atmosphere and is well off the normal tourism route.

No public transport exists in Kuala Selangor. Walking or taxis are the only options for getting around town. A weekend tram runs up Bukit Melawati for RM3 adults, RM1 children.
