Overview
Köthen is a small historic town in Saxony-Anhalt, best known as the place where Johann Sebastian Bach served as Kapellmeister from 1717 to 1723 and composed much of his instrumental masterpieces including the Brandenburg Concertos and Cello Suites. The town also holds significance as the residence of Samuel Hahnemann, founder of homeopathy, from 1821 to 1835.
