Overview
Königstein is a small fortress town of 2,100 residents in the dramatic sandstone landscape of Saxon Switzerland, just 30 km southeast of Dresden. The main draw is the imposing Festung Königstein, a 240-meter-tall rock plateau fortress with 1.8 km of ramparts and over 50 buildings up to 400 years old.
