Overview
Klamath Falls is a small Southern Oregon city in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range, sitting at the southern end of Klamath Lake in the Klamath Basin. It's a practical gateway to Crater Lake National Park (60 miles away) and one of the West's top birding destinations, rated 1 by Sunset magazine's Fantastic Five list.

Transport
Amtrak Coast Starlight stops at Klamath Falls station (1600 Oak Ave) with daily service north to Portland and south to San Jose. Pacific Crest Bus Lines/Greyhound connects to Bend, Redmond, Medford, and Brookings from the Amtrak station.
Weather
Cold winters with snow and warm summers typical of Pacific Northwest interior. Best time for outdoor activities is May-October.
