Before you go
Connectivity
Mobile coverage exists but GPS may be unreliable. No mention of WiFi at the park. Buy binoculars in hunting shops in Samsun rather than relying on park facilities.
Money
Entry and parking are free. The only costs are optional shuttle bus or buggy fees. Bring Turkish lira for the cafe and gift shop.
Safety
No swimming on delta beaches. Drive carefully in snake season. Jandarma present at both gates; call 112 for emergencies.
Transport
A vehicle is essential; cycling is feasible but challenging. Most visitors day-trip from Samsun. Shuttle buses and electric buggy tours operate between south and north gates. Taxis from Bafra serve the north gate.
Weather
Black Sea climate: chilly breezy winters and hot summers with little shade. Sun protection is essential in summer. Winter visits may limit wildlife viewing.
