Khartoum is Sudan's capital and the meeting point of the Blue and White Nile, forming the great Nile River. The city is actually three cities in one: Khartoum proper (government seat), Omdurman (traditional souqs and Middle Eastern atmosphere), and Bahri (industrial and residential).

City is very spread out across three municipalities. Walking impractical for long distances. Taxis and minibuses available.
