Overview
Khadikolvan is a historic village in the foothills of the Western Ghats, locally known as "Mukkam Khadikolvan" because it served as a traditional resting place for travelers. The village offers traditional Konkan temples, a geothermal hot spring believed to cure skin conditions, and proximity to the famous Marleshwar cave temple.

No hotels in Khadikolvan. Budget options in Devrukh (45 min away) and mid-range in Sangameshwar. Book accommodation in advance as options are limited.
Connectivity
BSNL and Jio mobile networks work only in patches. No network towers in the village. Do not rely on mobile service or mobile data.
Food
No restaurants exist. Arrange local meals with villagers in advance. Village is known for cashew nuts, seasonal mangoes, and local rice.
Money
No ATM in the village. Carry sufficient cash for the entire visit. Nearest ATM facilities are in Devrukh or Sangameshwar.
Safety
Small peaceful village but narrow mountain paths can be slippery during monsoon. Inform someone of plans before exploring remote areas.
Transport
Nearest railway is Sangameshwar on Konkan Railway. MSRTC buses connect Sangameshwar to Devrukh, then to Sakharpa. Khadikolvan is a 45-minute ride from Sakharpa.
Weather
Best visited October-March for pleasant weather. Monsoon brings lush greenery but slippery paths. January fair at Marleshwar Temple attracts crowds.
