Telstra has best mobile coverage. Internet available in main towns only. No taxis on the island.
Food
Restaurants limited to main towns. Buy supplies in Kingscote or Penneshaw supermarkets before heading to remote areas.
Quarantine
Kangaroo Island is an agriculture quarantine zone. You cannot bring plants, animals, or some food items from the mainland.
Safety
Drive carefully at dusk/dawn - wildlife collisions are common and not covered by rental insurance. Tiger snakes are common near Cape Willoughby.
Transport
SeaLink ferries run frequently from Cape Jervis; book ahead. Regional Express flies from Adelaide (35 min). No taxis on island - rent a car or take tours.
