Overview
Kalady is a quiet pilgrimage village on the Periyar (Poorna) river in Ernakulam District, Kerala. It draws visitors as the birthplace of Sri Adi Sankara, the 8th-century philosopher saint who founded the Advaita Vedanta school of thought.
