Overview
Kahramanmaraş is a city of about 570,000 people in southeastern Turkey, sitting at the crossroads of Mediterranean, Eastern, and Southeastern Anatolia regions. The city lies on a plain at the foot of the Taurus Mountains and is best known for its production of salep, a flour made from dried orchid tubers, and its distinctive ice cream that has become a regional specialty.
