Overview
Jurmo is the furthest off-coast island in the Archipelago Sea you can explore within a day trip from the mainland. The island offers over 300 observed bird species, unique stone circles called munkringar, and a historic chapel from 1846 with a votive ship made by a shipwrecked sailor.

Before you go
Money
The ferry to Jurmo is free. Most services on the island are limited—bring sufficient cash for meals at Jurmo Inn and any purchases at the harbour.
Safety
Bring drinking water—there is none available after the harbour. Protect against sunburn as the island is mostly treeless. Check for ticks regularly.
Transport
Free ferry m/s Utö operates from Pärnäs (Nagu) to Utö, calling at Jurmo. Coach from Turku costs €13.70 and connects with certain ferry departures. Plan overnight stays on most days as ferry timing is tight for day trips.
Water
No drinking water available after leaving the harbour area. Sea water is undrinkable despite low salinity.
Weather
Best visited during summer months. The island is treeless, offering little shelter from sun or wind. Nordic summer days start early and can be very hot for tent campers.
