Before you go
Connectivity
Mobile coverage is minimal to nonexistent in most of the park. Satellite phones may be available through tour operators. WiFi is limited to rare guesthouses.
Health
High altitude (up to 7,000m) poses altitude sickness risk. Basic medical facilities are far away; carry personal medications and first aid supplies.
Money
Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is the local currency. ATMs are limited outside major towns. Carry sufficient cash when entering remote park areas.
Transport
Guided transport is essential; public buses to Gasa are infrequent. Roads are winding mountain routes best navigated during daylight.
Weather
Monsoon season (June-August) brings heavy rains making trails dangerous. Spring and autumn offer best conditions with 10-25°C temperatures.
