Overview
Jasper National Park is the largest of Canada's Rocky Mountain Parks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spanning 10,878 km² of broad valleys, rugged mountains, glaciers, forests, and alpine meadows. With over 1,200 km of hiking trails and spectacular mountain drives like the Icefields Parkway, it offers wilderness experiences ranging from casual viewpoints to challenging backcountry expeditions.

Connectivity
No cell coverage in wilderness areas. Download offline maps before traveling, especially on Icefields Parkway.
Fees
Park permit required for all stops. $10.50/day adults, $9/seniors, free for children 0-16. Group rate $21 for 2-7 people. Valid until 4PM next day across multiple parks.
Safety
Bear country - use bear-proof containers. Wildlife crossings common. Winter driving hazardous; roads can close without warning due to avalanches.
Transport
Car is essential for covering park distances. Only fuel stations are in Jasper town. Cycling possible but challenging. Hiking provides best wilderness access.
Weather
Mountain weather changes rapidly year-round. Be prepared for cold, rain, and snow even in summer at higher elevations.
