Overview

Jasmund National Park is Germany's smallest national park at 30 km², but it packs enormous drama into its footprint. The star attraction is Königsstuhl (King's Chair), a 118 m high chalk cliff that is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in northern Germany.

Before you go

Money

No entry fee to the park, but official parking costs €4/day at Weddingstraße. Free alternative parking available at Waldhalle.

Packing

Bring sturdy walking shoes for the Hochuferweg trail; trails can be muddy and cliff edges have no railings in places.

Transport

Park access is by car to the visitor centre or on foot via trails from Sassnitz and Lohme. Bus service connects Sassnitz town centre to the park area.
