Overview
Isperih is a small Bulgarian town of about 8,000 people, notable primarily as the gateway to the Sboryanovo Archeological Reserve and its UNESCO World Heritage Thracian Tomb of Sveshtary. The town itself has modest attractions—the Monument to Asparuh and a local History Museum—but most visitors come specifically to see the ancient Thracian ruins and the sacred Tomb of Demir Baba, a 16th-century Alevi pilgrimage site.
