Overview
Inuvik is the most populous town in the Canadian Arctic with about 3,400 permanent residents, standing out from other Arctic settlements with paved streets, permanent buildings, churches, a mosque, bank branches, and a hospital. Its location at the inland end of the Mackenzie Delta and northern terminus of the Dempster Highway makes it the gateway to some of Canada’s most remote wilderness.
