Limited accommodation within Ingenio; most visitors stay in Las Palmas or the south and visit as day trips. Some cave dwellings in the gorge can be rented.
Culture
July's International Folklore Festival is the biggest event, featuring performers from multiple continents. Agüimes has patron saint festivals in January and September-October.
Hiking
Barranco de Guayadeque offers excellent hiking between Ingenio and Agüimes with panoramic views and palm groves. Bring water and sun protection as shade is scarce.
Transport
Bus routes connect Ingenio to Las Palmas, Telde, and Agüimes. The GC-1 motorway passes east of town for car travelers. Gran Canaria Airport is in the eastern municipality area.
