Notable modernist and contemporary architecture includes the Igualada Cemetery by Enric Miralles and Carme Pinós, and the Nursing Home Asil del Sant Crist by Joan Rubió i Bellver, a pupil of Antoni Gaudí.
Culture
Igualada is a stage on the Catalan Way of St. James (Camí de St. Jaume), a UNESCO-recognized pilgrimage route. The city is the agricultural and wine-producing capital of Anoia comarca.
Festivals
The European Balloon Festival in early July is the largest hot air balloon event in Spain. The Aerosport airshow occurs in April or May.

Spain uses the Euro (EUR). ATMs are widely available in the city center. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops.
Transport
FGC trains connect Igualada to Barcelona (1.5 hours) from Barcelona-Pl. Espanya station. The city lies on the N-2 highway, 65 km west of Barcelona.
