Money
Costa Rican colón (CRC) is the local currency. Credit cards may not be accepted at smaller establishments. Palí supermarket on the main road is available for supplies.
Transport
Local buses run on CR-158 connecting Hojancha to Nicoya and San José. The bus terminal is 2 blocks east of Central Park. A rental car is recommended for accessing rural attractions.
Weather
Hojancha has drier conditions than other Costa Rica regions. The wet season (summer) is manageable here. Elevation provides slightly cooler temperatures than coastal areas.
