Overview
High River is a small Alberta town of about 13,500 people, best known as a filming location for the CBC series Heartland, parts of Fargo, and Smallville in Superman III. It offers a quiet prairie heritage experience with historic murals, the 1911 Canadian Pacific Railway station-turned-museum, and access to excellent birdwatching and flyfishing in the surrounding area.

Transport
No public transit exists in High River; a car is essential. Mountain Man Mike's Bus Service stops weekly on its Calgary-Kaslo route. Calgary is 67 km north via Highway 2.
