Language
Local Heze dialect is more widely spoken than standard Mandarin. Similar to Beijing dialect but can be challenging for non-native speakers.

Local currency is Chinese Yuan (¥). Cash is commonly used. Mid-range hotels around ¥280-360 per night.
Transport
Taxis cost about ¥10 within the city center, around ¥150 to surrounding villages. Buses operate but shut down during Chinese New Year.
Weather
Temperate monsoon climate with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. Best time to visit is during peony bloom season in spring.
