Overview
Helensburgh is a Victorian seaside resort on the Clyde estuary 30 miles west of Glasgow, developed in the 19th century when wealthy Glasgow merchants built villas here. The star attraction is The Hill House, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1902 and now managed by the National Trust for Scotland, which has been enclosed in a protective box due to west coast weather damage.
