Overview
Hamina is a compact historic town in southeast Finland with a unique circular town plan dating to 1653, when Gustav Vasa granted the merchant town its distinctive layout centered on the town hall. The town is notable for its wooden neighborhood architecture, 17th-century fortress, and Lippupuisto (Flag Park), home to Europe's tallest flagpole at 100 meters.
