Overview
Hamelin (Hameln) is the town of the legendary Pied Piper (Rattenfänger von Hameln), the 16th-century story of a rat-catcher who lured the town's children away when citizens refused to pay his fee. The town draws approximately three million visitors each year, making it one of Lower Saxony's most visited destinations.
