Overview
Grootfontein is a city of 24,000 people in Namibia's Otjozondjupa region, forming part of the Otavi Triangle. Unlike the barren Namib Desert, this area is notably green in summer and drier in winter, with jacaranda and flamboyant trees blooming spectacularly in spring.
