Overview
Grindelwald is a traditional Alpine resort village at the foot of the Eiger, with population 3801 (2018). It offers direct views of the great north face, access to world-class skiing on Männlichen and First, and summer hiking trails including the path to Kleine Scheidegg.

Summer (June-September) is best for hiking with mild temperatures; winter (December-April) is prime skiing season. Weather changes rapidly in Alpine environments.
