Overview
Green Island is one of 300 coral cays in the Great Barrier Reef and the only one with a rainforest environment, spanning approximately 15 hectares. Located just 27 km offshore from Cairns, it offers a unique combination of reef and rainforest ecosystems with over 120 native plant species and around 55 bird species regularly seen.

Accommodation
Green Island Resort has 46 eco-sensitive suites. Transfers are included via Great Adventures catamarans. Helicopter and seaplane transfers available on request.
Activities
Snorkeling is free directly from the beach. Optional paid activities include Seawalker helmet diving, parasailing, scuba diving, glass bottom boat tours, and scenic helicopter flights.
Nature
Green Island has over 120 native plant species and 55 bird species. The surrounding reef is classified as an inshore patch reef. The island is a National Park.
Transport
Great Adventures fast catamarans depart Cairns at 8:30AM, 10:30AM, and 1PM daily, taking 45 minutes to reach the island. Helicopter and seaplane transfers available on request.
Water
The island has soft white coral sand beaches. Turtles are commonly spotted due to seagrass habitat. Seawater visibility varies.
