Overview

Graciosa is the second smallest island in Portugal's Azores archipelago, maintaining a remarkably rural and tranquil character thanks to its focus on agriculture, animal husbandry, and dairy industries. As a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 2007, the island offers dramatic volcanic landscapes: 200-meter-high cliffs at Serra Branca, volcanic cones dotting a flat interior, and two shallow bays at Vila da Praia and Folga.
