Overview

Gorinchem is a small fortified town in South Holland's Groene Hart region that has largely escaped mass tourism. The historic town center retains its 14th-century character with seven gates and 23 towers, while the surrounding flat polder landscape offers excellent cycling through windmill-dotted countryside of rivers and dikes.
