French Island is Victoria's largest coastal island, located 61 km southeast of Melbourne in Western Port Bay. About 70% of the island was declared a national park in 1997, making it a largely undeveloped nature sanctuary.

Fairhaven campground in the national park offers free camping 4 km from Tankerton Jetty with basic toilet facilities.

The only store is French Island General Store. No restaurants or pubs exist—bring all supplies.
Transport
Ferries from Stony Point cost $29 return for adults. Use your Myki card on trains from Melbourne to Stony Point.
