History
Freising was the religious center of Bavaria for centuries until the bishop moved to Munich in 1821. The city was largely spared WWII destruction due to its military hospital role.

Transport
The S-Bahn S1 connects Freising to Munich every 20 minutes (45 min to city center, 80 min to airport). The train splits en route, so verify you are in the correct portion.
